Letter to Sen. Patty Murray

Dear Senator Murray,

Last night's NO! vote by Tukwila was a reflection of the general populace feeling that:

1) If something doesn't work, why do it?
2) If a case could be made for something working but it costs multiples of the cost of alternatives that could work, why do the costly thing?
3) The cost of any Light Rail plan (compared to monorail, more buses, bus rapid transit, more incentives for vanpools, etc.) is more than a lot of money. It is LESS convenience for many bus riders than the existing system, MORE cost to them for public transportation AND enormous destruction of homes and business communities.
4) ANY at-grade system is both harmful to mobility and harmful to congestion.

PLEASE withdraw your support of this costly, inflexible and largely unworkable Light Rail plan.
